Frost Burned (Mercedes Thompson, #7)

Frost Burned (Mercedes Thompson, #7) - Patricia Briggs I really hope we won't have to wait such a long time until the next book! I love Mercy!

Country Mouse - Amy Lane, Aleksandr Voinov 3.5 stars

When One Door Opens

When One Door Opens - J.D. Ruskin 2.5 stars

Under the Skin

Under the Skin - Nicki Bennett, Ariel Tachna 3.5 stars

Strength of the Pack

Strength of the Pack - Kendall McKenna I really enjoyed this book. Two of my favorites, military and shifters, combined into one with great characters!

The book is written from the human's (Lucas) POV, who still has a lot to learn about the werewolf world. So as a reader you don't know anything more than he does. On one hand it is interesting to learn alongside Lucas, on the other hand I wanted to know more about the world! I wanted all the explanations that were promised, but sparsely given. There sometimes was a lack of communication, especially at the end, that could be a bit frustrating. I hope that we'll learn more in the sequels, which are definitely on my to read list.

It would love to read some of the chapters from Noah's POV! He must have had a very different take on some of the events, especially when he first submitted to Lucas. Or when he started to realize that Lucas might be a bit more than just his commanding officer. That would be so interesting to read from Noah's side!

I'm really glad I stumbled upon this book!

Demons Forever (Peachville High Demons, #6)

Demons Forever (Peachville High Demons, #6) - Sarra Cannon 3.5 stars

Infected: Lesser Evils

Lesser Evils - Andrea Speed 3.5 stars

Infected: Bloodlines

Bloodlines - Andrea Speed I like the mystery, but absolutely love the interactions between Roan and Paris. Sometimes the story spends too much time in the details, which sadly slows down the plot. There is a major spoiler in the next part of my review, so beware.

I was not expecting so much heartbreak when I started this series! You knew Paris would die during the entire book and sadly there was no miracle that saved him. I definitely respect the author for this though, only it breaks my heart. I absolutely love Roan and Paris together and how they interacted, so I'm not sure how the next couple of books will play out without Paris. I'm already feeling resentful towards Roan's next love interest (hopefully that won't happen for a long long time), which of course isn't very fair of me.

The book has a great balance between mystery and romance. And going into this series I wasn't expecting the strong point to be the romance aspect of the story, but more the mysteries. Though after reading Infected #1 & 2 I find myself loving this part of the story first and foremost. So I was a bit disappointed to miss out on most of the trip to Vancouver (wedding/family), which would more likely be included in a romance book. Since the romance part will probably be lacking in the next book, I'm wondering if I would like it as much as the previous 2 books. I also like Roan's (new) lion/virus child abilities a lot, so I hope that will be further developed during the series.

Infected: Prey

Prey - Andrea Speed Somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars.

Dead Run

Dead Run - Josh Lanyon 2 Stars for the plot and Will. 1 Extra star for the writing/because it is Josh Lanyon/because I liked the first 3 books so much.

I really, really did not like the amnesia part of this book. Besides it being completely over the top, it was also unnecessary. There was already enough tension and to add amnesia to that seemed convoluted. Furthermore, it was an incorrect use of post traumatic retrograde amnesia, which just irked me even more.

Right, I usually don't write reviews, but I just had to get that off my chest!
